What is AMOLED?

Many of the latest mobile devices and best OLED TV options are using a technology referred to as AMOLED. This technology was introduced in 2011 for use in televisions, media players, mobile phones and digital cameras. It uses an active matrix of OLED pixels. Upon electrical activation, they give off light and integrate onto a thin film transistor.

AMOLED stands for active matrix organic light-emitting diode. This display technology is progressing toward the production of lower cost, large-size OLED televisions that use less power. As more people seek the best OLED TV options, the quality will get better and prices will come down. The televisions will become increasingly energy-efficient with a crisp picture like no other commonly available today.
